THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT

Baseball Players....

I'm not sure what, but there's definitel
y something about them... Maybe:
1. Their Attitude (cocky and like I can do it all)
2. Their Bodies (those uniforms are the
best, I think any girl agrees with me)
3. Their Tan (they have a great one)

4. Their
Passion (you just can see how much they love what they do)

Jon Pitching

I was talking with my friend Jon, he played baseball for 15 years, and now, he stopped playing and he is a full time student and musician. When I asked why he didn't looked for a scholarship or something to keep playing and maybe go PRO, he said: ¨I like the game, but since I was little, I never wanted to go PRO¨... I was like... hmm ok..
I don't know, is weird 'cause if you are really good at something and you now you can achieve great things doing it
and you like it, why stop doing it?...
But I guess Jon's dream of being a musician is more important for him now, and I'm glad he's following his dream 'cause he is talented and his band is really good...

Nick Pitching

Then, there's another friend of mine, Nick, he's awesome, he's an excellent player, he has been playing all his life and at the time he graduated from High School, he already knew he was playing in university. He played ball all his student life and now he finished school and he keeps fighting for his dream of playing professionally. So now, he's in the ¨Angels¨ minor league... waiting for his chance to come.. And It will, trust me...

I wish to be:
In Florida, just to go watch the Daytona Cubs play. I think a couple of guys there are pretty cool ;)

DISCO CURTIS

A.J. / Tanner / Garrett

This boys drive me crazy....
- the end.

Hahaha, first, they have the looks and second, they have the talent, what else can you ask for?..
They are currently just playing in malls and Hot Topic stores but, you can tell they are going to make it BIG.
They are from Dallas, Texas. The band started on August 2008, singer & songwriter Tanner Howe began writing the singles "Breaking Hearts" and "Surprise Me" in early 2008 from personal experiences, with hopes of creating music that people can relate to.
Accompanied by long-time friends and musicians, AJ Novak and Garrett Perales, the trio entered the studio to work with producer, Geoff Rockwell (Forever The Sickest Kids). Together, with A.J.'s rhythmic creativity and Garrett's intricate guitar riffs, the trio collaborated their diverse ideas and released 3 studio demos, "Breaking Hearts", "Surprise Me", and "Incendiary Devices".
Each song possesses a sense of realism and their catchy, edgy, heartbroken love songs are sure to captivate listeners and bring life to music. With that said, Disco Curtis hopes that their music will become a part of your life as well. With a desire to build bonds with fans and break down the wall between the artist and the listener, be expecting Disco Curtis in your town soon. Let the music enter your life and allow your ears to be opened to Disco Curtis.

I actually send comments all the time and they reply, they are awesome, I think every artist should do that, I mean, bonding with the fans.
I can say now that this artists I talk to, and bands I like, are not just ¨someone famous¨ I can say they are my friends... You can have conversations with them via comments and they will keep up. Even if you comment today and they answer 3 days from now... they know who are you and what are you talking about. It's awesome ;)

I think you should give them a chance and listen to them...

DC!

Here's a video where you can see how talented they are ;)
A.J. is not in the video but you can see Tanner playing guitar and singing a capella ;)

I wish to be: In Texas, there's a lot of really cool bands I'm dying to meet there, also, I want to see why everything is bigger in Texas ;)

CONCENTRATION IS THE KEY

So, I found this article called Concentration is the Key by Tamim Ansary and I think he has some pretty interesting ideas...

These days, people love to say they can multitask, they say they have the ability, but, is that really necessary?? Multitasking I mean..

¨ People are born with a propensity for it but the skill must then be developed, and the process begins in childhood. Until recent decades, Whitehead says, people learned to read from books that had relatively few pictures and were written in "natural language," which presented readers with lots of vocabulary they didn't necessarily know. Reading those books demanded -- but also built -- concentration. Today, books for beginning readers tend to have lots of pictures and only a few words, and those words are carefully selected to be reading-level appropriate so that children rarely encounter words they must puzzle out from context. If the material is well sequenced, children emerge into reading naturally without palpable effort, almost without noticing: That's the theory.
The theory works. Kids do learn to read from carefully calibrated materials such as these, but building up the power of concentration? That's a different issue. Many elements of modern life may actually erode concentration by involving children in short bursts of interaction that return quick rewards. Take video games, for example. What they have to give, you can get in five seconds -- bang! pow! hey, that felt good! -- and if you play for 10 seconds, you get the same thing twice (and for 30 seconds, six times). Playing a video game for hours on end (not uncommon -- been there/done that) resembles concentration but is actually, in my opinion, the exact opposite; it is to concentration as antimatter is to matter. By contrast, reading or telling stories to very young children may help build concentration by involving them in a narrative that takes shape over time and offers a payoff only if they've stayed with the story throughout.
Concentration -- why bother?

Concentration is worth building because it is a foundational skill; it supports almost everything else one might do. In that way it's like intelligence. In fact, definitions of intelligence often include concentration as a component. Anecdotes about famous achievers of history suggest that one thing they shared was a phenomenal ability to get fully immersed in … something. Michelangelo spent two years on his back, two feet from the ceiling, painting the Sistine Chapel. I myself would have spent most of that time idly wondering whether to have pizza that night or soup. ¨

He says there's health tips that can be used as concentration tips, like:

• You can't concentrate when you're drowsy, so get enough sleep.
• You can't concentrate when you're groggy, so don't sleep too much.
• You can't concentrate when you're starving, so eat right.
• You can't concentrate when you're bloated, so don't overeat.
• And get some exercise, for heaven's sake! You can't concentrate if -- I'll stop there. It's worthy advice, but generic. The same tips apply to almost anything you might want to do better.

Concentration is a skill. If it isn't used, it can atrophy; if it isn't trained, it fails to develop past a certain point. But by the same token, with the proper training and practice, it can be developed to a level of fearsome intensity. Preferably, this begins in childhood (which is where parents and other elders come in) but it's never too late. Adults with normal powers of concentration can strengthen those powers with simple exercises such as: • Count backward from 100 slowly and steadily.
• Count backward from 100 by threes. (I'm not that smart lol, it would take hours I guess haha) • Simply look at an object for a set period -- say, 15 minutes. • Building on the previous exercise, remove the object and picture it for that same period. And if the buzz of distracting thoughts grows intolerable, stop what you're doing, make a list of everything on your mind at that moment, choose one thing to focus on, and then schedule a time to deal with all the rest. When you make a list and schedule what you want to do, you become more relaxed and can focus in a better way... In short, I stand with those Zen masters who, when asked how they achieved enlightenment, answered, "When I walk, I just walk. When I eat, I just eat." And that's true, don't try to multitask to feel better, or 'cause you feel like everyone can do it and not you, is ok, multitasking is not for all, and sometimes doing just one thing at the time can be better 'cause you do it better -- YOU ARE FOCUSED ;)

I wish to be: Doing my homework instead of writing this blog... I guess I'm not much of a multitask-er...

TWITTER

www.twitter.com

Twitter is the ¨new¨ social networking thing... I say ¨new¨ 'cause it has like 3 years since it started but till now everybody is getting to know about it.
When you have a twitter account, you just answer to a simple question: What are you doing?. You have 140 characters to write that, so It has to be a small answer. You have a profile and there's the people you ¨Follow¨, you choose to follow them and you get all their updates. Also you have ¨Followers¨ the people that follows you.. duh! lol Lots of celebrities have a twitter account now, Ashton Kutcher has like 1 million followers, there's also John Mayer or Demi Moore aka Mrs. Kutcher... When somebody posts and update you can reply to that update and they reply back to you (sometimes, 'cause some big celebrities like Ashton Kutcher probably is not going to answer)... The thing I love about Twitter is that you can bond with celebrities, in a personal way, I don't know, is like, you know they are real, their updates are real, is not just some manager or whatever, you can add pics to your update uploading them via twitterpic and sometimes this celebrities add pics they just took with their cellphone... Like they post an update saying... I'm eating nuggets at mcdonald's and they add pic... eating the nuggets... not all dressed up, just being normal... that's what I like... they are themselves via twitter, writing what they want, not what someone told them to write... Personally, in my account, I'm following 463 people (lots of celebrities in there) and I have 145 followers (a big number lol.. I don't know why this people care about what I update about.. Im not a celebrity but, Im not complaining) ;) I've had replies from celebrities, and I don't care what you think, really I don't care.. I guess you are probably not going to believe me but whatever!!! The celebrities that have had replied to me more than once are: Miley Cyrus, Holly (from the Olly Girls - Sunset Tan E! show), Miles (bass player in my favorite band) and more... I guess you are kinda sceptic at this moment, but... believe me.. I know they are the ¨real¨ ones, you can tell by the way they talk and the proofs they post.... If you believe me: I love you If you don't believe: I love you too but...I don't care what you think ;) I have a Twitter account, so If you decide to make one, follow me ;) twitter.com/@_allie_

You can see my TWITTER updates here in my blog, underneath my facebook badge ;)

I wish to be: twittering.. so bye people! ;)

FRIENDS VISITING

Richard & Tyler

Ok, so 2 Florida friends are coming to visit... yay!!!
They already bought their tickets and they are coming on may the 27 and leaving on June the 17th.
I'm so happy, is going down baby, we are going to have a lot of fun!!!...
Well, I hope to be able to hang out with them, 'cause they have a lot of friends in here that want to hang out with them....
Also, my ¨hangout¨ options are not that appealing for them... Partying!...
They don't like partying that much... I don't know why.. but whatever...
Richard already came here for summer a year ago.. it was fun.. And Tyler has never been here... so.. that's going to be interesting...
I think I don't have anything in common with them.. but somehow we are friends... is funny!

I wish to be: In Florida getting them ready to come ;)

DIABETES

Apparently I'm in a diabetes risk... The doctor was very serious when telling me that but I was like ok. He said the ¨blah blah¨ all doctors always say ¨ you have to eat healthy and do a lot of exercise ¨. I was like, yeah, I know. But the thing is, I can't eat food that has sugar anymore... what??... I mean, I'm not a sugar obsessed, but sometimes I feel like I NEED the sugar.
The doctor said is because I have ¨hypoglycemia¨, h
aving Hypoglycemia means that my sugar goes down in a dramatic way after eating. They made a test at the doctor's office, I went there really early in the morning without eating and after a few tests they gave me like a HUGE breakfast, and after eating they run some more tests... Normally your sugar level should be higher after eating, apparently mine was 78 before eating and 52 after eating.
Since is THAT dramatic, that's why I feel the need of sugar after eating and I'm always tired feeling sleepy... Finally an answer to my problems, I thought I was just super lazy.

So at the end he said, fruits had all the sugar I need, but I have to go easy on fruits too.. and that I should stop drinking coke... WTF????????????????????????

I'm pretty much addicted to diet coke, really, I can't spend a day without drinking at least one. I need coke, I'm addicted since december 2008. My mom used to buy coke for m
e, but 2 weeks ago she decided not to buy coke anymore... So, I buy them myself... feels like a drug, believe me, somedays I even start shaking 'cause I need it sooooo much :(
I know at this point you are thinking... Woah, drinking coke is really bad.. but I KNOW! shh.

I have had 2 ¨Hypoglycemic attacks¨ and they suck. Both were when I was driving and I had to pull over 'cause It was too much. You feel dizzy, killer headache, you can barely open your eyes, you feel like throwing up, you start sweating a lot, and the solution is eating a candy. So, I don't know but, if I stop drinking coke, people will see a side of me they don't want to see, believe me!, I can become a super bitch if I want something and I can't have it... lol
So I guess,
Dia
betes, here I go... 'Cause at this moment, is not like I don't care about my health, but I don't care about stop drinking coke.. so... whatever...

P.S. I dont know if you are like I am, but Im always watching those doctors tv shows, and I've become pretty paranoic.

I wish to be: Drinking a diet coke ;)

Me with my new Retro Ignite stuff ;)

Ok, so, a lot of bands friend request me on myspace, and, it's ok, since I love to hear about new bands, new fusions, new music and all, but sometimes there's one band that makes me want to have the cd, the shirt and everything...
So, that happened with this band that friend requested me like 2 weeks ago, and the day before yesterday I got my stuff ;) The cd (wich they signed for me, thank you very much), the shirt and a signed poster... I even save the envelope where they send the stuff.. yeah, I love them that much..
I don't know, but they have something.... that makes me wanna listen to their songs everyday ;) and the worst of all is that they are UNSIGNED... wtf?... You, yes you record labels!.. Start looking for great bands, I know a lot of MySpace unsigned bands that would be a HIT... stop looking for Disney Stars.. that's so last summer... :P

So here's the band's MySpace page, check it out, let me know what you think ;)

I wish to be: In New York right now, So I can meet them in person :)

NEW JOB!

Ok, at this moment I'm über happy 'cause the manager of this store I wanted to work just called me and told me I got the job.. It was a tough selection she said, there was 120 applications for 12 jobs... So that's why I had 2 interviews: A grupal interview: Where they saw my amazing personality and called me for an individual interview 2 weeks after. An Individual Interview: Where they asked me like 39748676 questions, and how much I wanted to make with them and blah!... It was a funny interview tough... So.. today, a week after the individual interview, they called and I GOT THE JOB.. OMG! Its amazing!! This place where I'm going to work since next week, is a worldwide clothing store called MANGO or MNG, actress Penélope Cruz is the brand face. I love the clothing, love the ambient, love the money, love it all... Life is good at this moment ;) You can check out the store here: www.mango.com
